    R. RING is KELLEY DEAL & MIKE MONTGOMERY. They combine voices, guitars and keys to create something sparse, chaotic, abrasive and lulling, often within the same song. KELLEY also plays with THE BREEDERS. MIKE plays with AMPLINE. Together they are R. RING and recently, the duo released a split 7-inch with the excellent PROTOMARTYR and their track, "Loud Underneath," is a stark departure from the music they make in their other bands. THE HOLY GHOST is a Brooklyn-based indie-rock band that's been making music since 1999. he trio consists of vocalist CHRISTOPHER D. HEINE, bassist KENT HEINE, and guitarist ALEC FERRELL. Founding member, MATT FOCHT, who also fronts Chicago-based band HEAD OF FEMUR, recently returned to the drums for THE HOLY GHOST. The band's angular, post-whatever sound is laced with southern gothic undertones and are spun with "literate, stylish, almost surreal tales," as Rolling Stone pointed out in their glowing review of the band's fourth album, Well... Get Your Funeral Shoes. LA's THE DEAD SHIPS craft soulful garage/indie-rock that has drawn comparisons to bands you've possibly heard of like THE STROKES, THE BLACK KEYS and ALABAMA SHAKES. The LA-based trio were nominated for "Best Show of 2014" by DoLA and they recently released the infectious single "Canyon" as a teaser for their upcoming EP, produced by BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE's BRENDAN CANNING. As the band says: "There is a Dead Ship within each and every one of us. Embrace your empty vessels, and sail on, mother fuckers."
