TINY FIREFLIES are a just-for-fun collaboration turned super-serious (but not, like, overly serious) musical endeavor. We last saw these two on the EB stage back in July while they were still working hard on their full length debut. Well, the time has come for the world to enjoy the fruits of thier labor, and we couldn't  be more pumped to help them celebrate the release of The Space Between. Solo musicians Kristine (TINY MICROPHONE) & Lisle (FIREFLIES) had no intention of starting a band together. They combined musical talents for a 2012 series by netlabel Eardrums Pop. The song "Don’t Wait Until I Fall Asleep" was a favorite among these series and that’s how it all started. With Kristine’s angelic vox in front of synth-centric tunage and Lisle’s melodic guitar work, these dreamlike tracks are enough to make you want to run through a meadow, in slow motion, into someone else’s arms. Fight that urge while you’re here though – there are no meadows in Chicago and it's always awkward when you act out on your urges. Adding to the dreaminess of the evening is Chicago’s own AIRIEL. This marks AIRIEL’s fifth time playing the Bottle, and having them play our stage is always a damn pleasure. They’ve been together since 1997 and consistently bring everything we love them for: catchy melodies, lush guitars, danceable rhythms and lasting dreaminess. Let’s not stop there – our old friends STARTROPICS will also be here. STARTROPICS began as a bass & guitar duo huddled around a drum machine and has since evolved into a four-piece dream pop outfit specializing in primary-colored pop songs. Blending boy/girl vocals on top of jangly Rickenbacker leads, a healthy dose of fuzzy rhythms and electronic beats, their songs are equal parts celebratory and introspective. Kicking the evening off is DOGS FROM REDDING, who will be spinning records to get the party started and finished and in-betweened.
