Tonight CHIRP Radio welcomes SEOUL to the Empty Bottle stage! Hailing from the great city of Montreal, SEOUL is bringing their own brand of Seoul-ful (get it? woof), fast paced bedroom pop, and sometimes were not even sure if our shriveled, booze-soaked hearts can take all the emotion they stir up. The band is in the midst of a huge North American tour to celebrate their new LP, I Become A Shade, out on Grand Jury. Born as a folk project headed by YUNA DARLING and BEN LANDAU, the two of them have traded in their Ukulele's and acoustic guitars for synths and drum machines and the transition has been smooth to say the least. With swirly arpeggios, washy vocals, and poignant lyrics, they haven't left behind all the things that made their early folk releases so amazing. They simply augmented them to make a very lush and complete record. Hometown boy ANTI/BEYOND (ANDY MASTERS) will be starting the night off right with his folk-turned-electronic act. Self-described as "pop music meant to be enjoyed with the blinds closed, lights dimmed, and eyes closed,” this will be a perfect thing to get us in the mood for the music to come that night. JEREMIAH MEECE, who performs as one half of THE-DRUM, kicks things off and will be gettin' sick and slimey on the decks, bringing the weirdness for all the real life weirdos out there, while MICA ATKINSON of CHIRP Radio DJs throughout the night. You get all this and more for just ten dollars at the door. That’s a steal. Unfortunately SEOUL tourmate YOUNG EJECTA is unable to perform for tonight's show, but it's still gonna be a fun ass night, so dance on down here and shake your butts right off that sweet bod.
