From time to time, we're lucky enough to have legendary artists grace our stage for special, intimate performances. Tonight is undoubtedly one of those occasions as we welcome guitarist, singer, songwriter and acclaimed producer DANIEL LANOIS to our little hole in the wall. The Quebec-based artist may be best known for producing albums for some amazingly heavy-hitters: NEIL YOUNG, BOB DYLAN, PETER GABRIEL, WILLIE NELSON, EMMYLOU HARRIS and BRANDON FLOWERS, to name a few. LANOIS also collaborated with none other than BRIAN ENO, most notably sharing the production role on a little U2 album called The Joshua Tree, which would go on to win The Grammy for Album of The Year and eventually sell over 25-million copies. Production work aside, LANOIS has released a dozen records over the past 25 years, including last year's fantastic Flesh and Machine on Anti- Records. The entirely instrumental album blends original atmospheric and processed-based sounds, using vocals only to provide textures, and recalls his past collaborations with ENO on the groundbreaking ambient works On Land and Apollo: Atmospheres And SoundtracksNPR Music called the album "a deeply otherworldly" adventure" while while The New York Times said " it evokes an oldfangled form of technological mediation: not a DJ running programs on a laptop, so much as the wizard behind the curtain." To say we're excited about this show would be a disgusting understatement.
