Any show featuring the reunited ZEROS is a big deal, and tonight we kick off a weekend of Panache Pitchfork Fest Aftershows with the classic LA punk band. Hailing from the city's mid-70s punk explosion alongside THE WEIRDOS and GERMS, THE ZEROS are playing to a new generation of young and old and its clear there’s still something magical about these fellas, as they continue to blast in an out of every town they play. Epitomizing the sometimes destructive collision of collective musical passion and personal excess of the time, THE ZEROS' hook-laden garage-punk, with ties to 60s proto-punk and 70s art-rock, keeps them sounding fresh to this very day, and we couldn't be happier to welcome them to our stage tonight. Minneapolis trio THE BLIND SHAKES hit the Bottle once again with their spastic, rumbling, anxious noise-punk effort full of guitar-heavy tracks that plays like a smack to the face. Returning for the first time since headlining last year's bonkers Halloween bash, these dudes are the real deal and will literally blow up your head with their overpowering sound and antics. It's no doubt in our minds that 2012 was the year of OUTER MINDS in Chicago, and we're damn excited to welcome them back to play our stage again. The gruesome five-some has spent much of the last year criss-crossing the states, playing festivals like Pitchfork, and generally stirring up shit wherever they played their take on garage rock's first wave filtered through enough dreamy reverb to send you into a psychedelic stupor. Last year they released two albums, a self-titled gritty, pop slam-dunk on Southpaw and a heavier, darker beast on FDH/Resurrection, each of which you should shoot into your earholes before seeing em open for the muthafuckin' ZEROS.
