Sunn O))) label: Southern Lord related: Burning Witch,Goatsnake,Khanate
Eagle Twin label: Southern Lord
Chord label: Neurot related: Pelican,X-Bax,Unfortunaut

Dark, heavy, and altogether brutal, drone metal masters SUNN O))) return supporting their seventh, and latest, rumbling release with Southern Lord Monoliths & Dimensions, a record that Tiny Mix Tapes says brings the band "into the cleansing light of day and the results are awe-inspiring." As a duo, STEPHEN O'MALLEY and GREG ANDERSON explore the murky territory where drone, psychedelic and experimental minimalism breed into torrential, contemplative and ceremonial soundscapes that occupy the lowest echoing registers of the ear. Self proclaimed "doom blues roots rock" duo EAGLE TWIN comes to us from Salt Lake City to play second here previewing material from their forthcoming Southern Lord debut. Local power ambient collective CHORD open performing with the ultimate goal of achieving "the melding of separate sustained notes into a single unified aural entity". Featuring members of PELICAN and UNFORTUNAUT, the collective has just released their debut, Flora, with Neurot.

Explosions in the Sky label: Temporary Residence
Jason Lytle label: ANTI related: Grandaddy

Formed in an Austin, Texas pizza parlor in the decaying winter of 1999, instrumental quartet EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY penned their debut album How Strange, Innocence just a few months later, pressing only 300 copies. Ten years and three albums later the group is at the top of their game with their tracks gracing television sets and movie screens and headlining international festivals. Join us at the palatial Congress Theater as we celebrate the anniversary of their inception and they soar through their catalogue of epic, emotionally charged, sonic post-rock. Helping kick off the festivities is former GRANDADDY singer JASON LYTLE who embarks on his first tour in support of his solo debut, Yours Truly, The Commuter out now on ANTI which builds upon the fuzzy pop rock framework that he laid down with his former band.

Street Team:
Who loves to put up posters and distribute flyers? I know we do, and so does our street team. They are damn good at it too. However, the time has come to add soldiers to our illustrious volunteer force, and we think you'd be perfect for the job. Did we mention you get to go to free shows? Prior experience is helpful, and so is a vehicle or bike. But don't be discouraged if you have neither, we might just have a place for you anyhow. Interested parties should contact Christen at christen@emptybottle.com or 773.276.3600.

Interns
The Empty Bottle is looking for you… especially if you are looking for an internship. We would like to bring two interns on board to work with us here in the Bottle office. Internships run 5-20 hours per week, and cover a wide array of tasks and responsibilities. That said, we do need responsible and industrious folks who are interested in learning more about the concert industry. Internships are unpaid, but man alive, you want to talk about perks? Free shows are just the tip of the iceberg. School credit is preferred, but certainly not necessary. If you are interested, please send a resume to christen@emptybottle.com or fax it to 773.276.3607.
