Spires That in the Sunset RiseIt is rare to find someone like DEWAYNE SLIGHTWEIGHT, who spills creativity through their pores. Dabbling in music, drawing, and sculpture SLIGHTWEIGHT’S brain never stops churning out some of the most unique and interesting art in Chicago. We’re pleased to present DEWAYNE’S latest creation, an opera entitled The Kinship Structure of the Ferns. It is indeed, not to be missed. Fellow Chicago artist TARALIE PETERSON takes time away from her haunting and ethereal work with SPIRES THAT IN THE SUNSET RISE to perform solo here, and we cannot wait to hear what she has up her sleeves. (SPECIAL: 'White Pirate' - Point Pale Ale and a shot of Sailor Jerry, five dollars.)

Street Team:
Who loves to put up posters and distribute flyers? I know
we do, and so does our street team. They are damn good at
it too. However, the time has come to add soldiers to our
illustrious volunteer force, and we think you'd be perfect
for the job. Did we mention you get to go to free shows? Prior
experience is helpful, and so is a vehicle or bike. But don't
be discouraged if you have neither, we might just have a place
for you anyhow. Interested parties should contact Morgan at
morgan@emptybottle.com or 773.276.3600.
Interns
The Empty Bottle is looking for you… especially if you are
looking for an internship. We would like to bring two interns
on board to work with us here in the Bottle office. Internships
run 5-20 hours per week, and cover a wide array of tasks and
responsibilities. That said, we do need responsible and industrious
folks who are interested in learning more about the concert
industry. Internships are unpaid, but man alive, you want
to talk about perks? Free shows are just the tip of the iceberg.
School credit is preferred, but certainly not necessary. If
you are interested, please send a resume to morgan@emptybottle.com
or fax it to 773.276.3607.
