Mirrored is our monthly improvised jazz/experimental music series, conceived by Chicago musicians Syler Rowe and Bruce Lamont. Each month, we welcome a completely unique group of Chicago musicians to perform with each other on the floor in front of the Bottle stage. We took a month off in May, but we're back for the fourth installment of 2017, with the ever-morphing COFFIN SCREWS. They'll be playing two sets and will be accompanied by smooth tunes before, in-between and after, courtesy of Mr. Rowe. Mirrored goes down from 6-8pm each month right before Windy City Soul Club hits the stage. The cherry on top? It's always FREE!
Chicago guitarist Reid Karris started the free improv project, COFFIN SCREWS, with the idea of assembling trios using a different drummer and bassist for each performance and at times choosing people who do not normally play together in an improvised setting. For the Mirrored Series he has an expanded line up of individuals he has played with in the past in previous Coffin Screws performances as well as in other groupings.
Reid Karris - prepared guitars
Alexander Adams - drums & electronics
Nick Alvarez - drums
Keenan Foley - sax
Parker Grogan - bass / guitar
