A Music Frozen Dancing Afterparty presented by Empty Bottle and Goose Island

What happens the day after Music Frozen Dancing? A Music Frozen Dancing After Party is what. This year, MFD winter block party headliners METZ & SCREAMING FEMALES will be playing inside the venue for a rambunctious night two!

Canada ain’t just pumping out hockey and genteel demeanors, y’all. Ottawa’s noise rock outfit METZ has been cranking out solid tunes since their Sub Pop debut in 2012. Last year’s “II” was a heralded album and is worth your time. The guitars are titanic, the drums ill-tempered, the vocals chilling, and the volume worrisome. Though they incorporated new instruments, (baritone guitar, tape loops, piano, synth, found sounds) and stretched out the arrangements, they still managed to “stay true to what made us tick in the first place: that immediacy."

SCREAMING FEMALES has been a band for over 10 years, releasing five full-length albums and perofmring 700 globe-spanning live shows has made them difficult to miss. Through it all, the New Brunswick, NJ trio have continued to exude a frenetic energy which is built upon the zeitgeist of America's punk and indie underground yet has always remained forward-looking.

Chicago band LUGGAGE is comprised of members of BASIC CABLE, LOOSE DUDES and CLEARED. Formed in 2015, they've already given the world a debut LP, Sun, on Automatic Recordings. The trio's dark, noisy blend of shoegaze, post-punk and droning psychedelia is intensely hypnotic. Judging by the members' pedigrees, you can expect a thrilling live set, as we saw in August 2016 when they last played our stage, opening for good ole RYLEY WALKER.
